Panjab University PhD Theses to be Digitized

In an effective move to provide an easy access to research work to scholars at the campus, Panjab University has decided to digitize PhD theses of students completed between 1956 to 2007.

PU’s Board of Finance (BoF) passed Rs 35-lakh budget for digitization of 8,000 theses, along with rare manuscripts and books with the library. For Manmohan Singh Chair in PU, Rs 15 lakh per annum fund has been sanctioned by the board.

As reported by Times of India, corpus fund of Rs 1 crore will be used by PU for foundation of higher education and students will be given loan subsidy on merit basis out of interest of this fund.
