NAAC awards ‘A’ grade to Bharatidasan University

Bharathidasan University (BU) in Tamil Nadu has been awarded ‘A’ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The university has applied for re-accreditation. A NAAC peer team visited the campus at the start of this month to validate the self-study report presented by the university last year.

According to Vice Chancellor K Meena, the assessment was made based on parameters, including curriculum, teaching-learning and evaluation, research consultancy and extension, infrastructure and learning resource.

NAAC had given a score of 3.16 out of four for BU. Alagappa University in Karaikudi was re-accredited with ‘A’ Grade with a score of 3.24 points. Re-accreditations are under progress for Periyar University (Salem), University of Madras, and Madurai Kamaraj University.
