Education is seen as a source of social mobility in India. Good education is like a stepping stone for a high flying career. The higher education system in India has grown in a remarkable way, to become one of the largest systems of its kind in the world. The U21 Ranking of National Higher Education Systems rates the countries who are best at providing higher education across the world. The four parameters selected for rating were output (production of an educated workforce which meets labour market needs), resources (investment by government and private sector), environment (government policy and regulation) and connectivity (international networks and collaboration). The top positions were grabbed by different countries namely United States, China, Finland, India, Denmark, South Korea, Norway, Canada and Chile etc. India has been ranked 48 out of many countries in terms of its provisions for the availability of higher education. The size of population was also considered for every respective country. For international research collaborations China, India, Japan and United States also share a good percentage.
