IIMB launches ‘Learning from Sport’

Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) has launched a 2 day executive education program called ‘Learning from Sport’. The program is aimed at middle and senior managers. The program which is being conducted along with sports consulting firm TENVICĀ  will start on March 16, 2012.

Sportspersons will share their experiences with participants and sessions include class room training, panel discussions, video-based case studies and informal interactions.

“It gives us the head start in exploring the various facets of leadership and other behavioural traits that the corporate world can learn from the sports world. This programme is a differentiated offering and we are confident that our corporate participants will respond to this enthusiastically,” said Shyamal Roy, Chairperson, Executive Education Programs, IIMB.

It would help them to understand and hone their skills in performance -based leadership, altruistic mentoring, leadership jugglery amongst others. “This program cuts across the conventional management experiences and draws on the learning from sports to empower corporates to tackle challenging business situations”, said Hari Iyer, VP – Learning from Sports, TENVIC in a press statement.
