Scotland education minister inaugurates first campus in India

Strathclyde SKIL Business School Inauguration

Scotland’s University of Strathclyde business school has opened its maiden campus in India in Noida, Delhi NCR.  It has partnered with SKIL, an infrastructure development company that recently forayed into the education sector, for the same. The campus was inaugurated by Scotland’s Education Minister Michael Russell who termed it as a move which will boost India-Scotland relations in the field of education.

“The Scottish university campus in India will help cement our hard-won reputation and it will strengthen the links between Scottish and Indian higher education institutions,” Russell said. He also said there is a growing demand for high quality higher education in India.

The Indian partner of University of Strathclyde, SKIL said in a statement, “The joint initiative will initially deliver an undergraduate bachelor in

business studies and a postgraduate masters in management, and the masters in business administration course will be started in 2013.”

The statement also informed that the campus is the early stages of development and t

he courses are being tailored for India’s flourishing business sector and combine the expertise of academics from India and the United Kingdom. Earlier, Prof. Bhimaraya Metri, who was Dear – Academics with MDI, joined as a Dean for Strathclyde SKIL Business Schoo.
