E. Ahamed becomes new Minister of State for HRD

E. Ahamed has become the new Minister of State for Human Resource Development. After the announcement was made regarding his appointment, Ahamed met Kapil Sibal, Union Minister of Human Resource Development before assuming the charge of Ministry.

The newly appointed minister met the senior ministry officials he understood the procedure and various functioning of the ministry. Terming his new portfolio as a challenge, he said that he would try to live up to the expectations of the people.

Shri E. Ahamed was a Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly consecutively for five terms from 1967 to 1991. Shri Ahamed had a long and distinguished career as a legislator and Parliamentarian. He represents Malaappuram constituency of Kerala.

He has done B.A., B.L. Educated at Government Brennen College, Tellicherry and Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. H has also been associated with several educational, cultural and social institutions. Ahamed is known for his intitaives in promoting education, establishing schools and institutions.

He heldthe post of president for various organizations which include Muslim Educational Foundation, Panur, Kannur, Kerala and Kannur Deenul Islam Sabha Regd. Kerala. He is a Member of Board of the Medical College, Pariyaram, Kerala, Managing Committee, MEA Engineering College, Malappuram, near Perinthalmanna, Kerala and Executive Council, Aligarh Muslim University.
