On the occasion of the Global Investors Meet at Khajuraho, Anil Ambani announced to set up Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU) in Bhopal.

The university is expected to deliver focused studies and research in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group’s Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation already runs Information & Communication Technology Institute with the name of DAIICT.

On the sidelines of the Global Investors Meet, Reliance ADA Group, Chairman, Anil Ambani said, “A high quality University at Bhopal that offers programmes in Information Technology is a priority for a state like Madhya Pradesh that is on the vanguard of making great strides in economic development on the strength of its intellectual resources.”

According to the company sources, Reliance ADA Group has earmarked Rs 100 crore for developing higher education in Madhya Pradesh.

A company release said DAU will be soon set up in 110 acres of land. The Government of Madhya Pradesh has issued a letter of intent and also provided land for the proposed project to ADA Group.

“The University will provide focused studies and research in ICT and also focus on niche programmes relevant to the economic development of the state,” a company release stated. “The DAU will offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programs with emphasis on research activities in ICT and allied areas,” it added.

Earlier in January, elder brother Mukesh Ambani also announced Reliance Group’s entry into Education Sector through Reliance University.
