HAU to assist Nepal for faster agricultural development

According to Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University (HAU) Vice Chancellor K.S. Khokhar, scientists from the HAU will provide their assistance for faster agriculture development in Nepal. He made this announcement while welcoming an eight-member delegation from Nepal, headed by the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) executive director Bharat Prasad Upadhyay.

The delegation was on a visit to the HAU campus in Hisar recently to see the agriculture and horticulture processes developed in the university.

Prof. Khokhar said, “Keeping in view the similarities in geographical, agricultural as also agro-climatic conditions of both the countries, HAU will extend full cooperation to Nepal for faster agricultural development.”

HAU, is one of Asia’s biggest agricultural universities, located at Hisar in  Haryana. It has a very large campus of  7219 acres and has several research centres throughout the state. It is a leader in agricultural research in India and contributed significantly to Green Revolution and White Revolution in India in the 1960s and 70s.
